Architect: Frank Matcham
2011: Sansome Hall

Theatresearch wrote the Conservation Management Plan for this project in 2010 and this formed the core restoration philosophy for the project. As a Grade I listed building the Theatre Royal is one of the most important provincial theatres in the country. This enabled Frank Matcham’s original design ethos to be reinstated whilst also catering for the needs of a 21st century audience.

Theatresearch was appointed as lead consultants tin the development the designs and to take the project through to ultimate completion in 2012. The project cost in excess of £6 million and was executed in less than 6 months to ensure that the loss of revenue income was kept to a minimum.
